Keith “Sammy” Collins Shuler

Salem, SC — Keith “Sammy” Collins Shuler, 67, husband of 47 years to Cathy Lynett Hopkins, of 125 What-A-View Lane, Salem, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at Emory University Medical Center in Atlanta, GA.

 

A native of Monetta, SC in Aiken County, Sammy was the son of the late Ralph and Virginia Collins Shuler. He graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelors in Agriculture Mechanization and Business and a Masters in Agriculture Education. Sammy was a die-hard democrat, complex thinker and man of many talents and ideas. He loved his family and had a kind and giving heart. Sammy was saved by the Lord Jesus Christ and is in Heaven with him now.

 

In addition to his wife, Sammy is survived by his daughter: Robin Lynett Shuler Shannon of Augusta, GA; brothers: Rusty Shuler (Kim) of Elkton, MD, DeWayne Shuler (Bonnie) of Preston, MD and Tommy Shuler of Virginia; sister: Patsy Burns of Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Tristen Garrison and Gracelyn Belle Garrison; and son-in-law: Jerry Garrison.

 

In addition to his parents, Sammy was preceded in death by his daughter: Tomi Elaine Shuler Garrison; brothers: Richard Shuler, Buddy Shuler, Larry Shuler and Curly Shuler; and sisters: Peggy Roberts, Dawn Elaine Baynard, Judy Buchanan.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 28, 2019, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel.

 

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Davenport Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Atlanta Hospitality House, 1815 S. Ponce de Leon Ave., NE, Atlanta, GA 30307 or to The Tomi Garrison Scholarship Fund at Tri-County Technical College.

 

The family is at the residence.
