John McGuffin

Westminster – John Edwin McGuffin,43, husband of Jackie Butts McGuffin, passed away on June 22^nd, 2024 at Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Born October 18^th, 1980, in Toccoa, Georgia, John was the son of Charles Ernest and Diane Edwards McGuffin of Westminster, South Carolina. John was a graduate of West-Oak High School, was retired from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Department as a Corporal, and later worked at Reflections Auto Glass.  John had a great passion for traveling, music and was known for his big contagious smile, that brought such laughter and enjoyment to all those who were around him. His love for his family and his faith in God was shown anytime John had the opportunity to speak to anyone and he was a member of Clearmont Baptist Church.  

 

John is survived by his beloved wife, Jackie Butts McGuffin; children, Kailey McGuffin, Garrett McGuffin, and Logan McGuffin all of Westminster; his brother, Andy McGuffin and wife, Katrina of Westminster, nephew, Hayden McGuffin; mother and father in-laws, Alex and Jeanette Butts of Westminster; and his princess his beloved cat, Buttercup; and several cousins and beloved family members he leaves behind.

 

John is preceded in death by his grandparents, and a niece, Emilee McGuffin.  

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 26^th, 2024, at Sandifer Funeral Home, with full police honors by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard. The family will receive friends, 6:00 pm – 8:00pm, Tuesday, June 25^th, 2024 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
