Howard Rholetter

Seneca – Howard Rholetter, 87, husband to the late Pauline Holbrooks Rholetter, passed away, August 12, 2020 at his residence.

 

Born in Brasstown, SC, he was the son of the late Gus Clarnton Rholetter, Sr. and Arintha “Lizzie” Elizabeth Carter Rholetter. Howard was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, retired from Beacon Manufactory and was a member of Damascus Baptist Church where he served as a church clerk for many years. Howard enjoyed working, fixing things, and dining out, especially eating his catfish.  

 

Howard is survived by son, Randy Thrift; daughter, Kathy Thrift; brothers, Jack and Ray Rholetter; sisters, Eleanor R. Rholetter, Gladys R. Cobb, Mary R. Bramlett; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a special nephew/adopted son, Roger Rholetter.

 

Howard is preceded in death by his daughters, Margaret Thrift Rogers, Janice Marie Thrift; brothers, Curtis and Junior Gus Rholetter.

 

A Funeral Service will be held 10 am, Saturday, August 15th, 2020 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.  In lieu of a formal visitation, Mr. Rholetter will lie in state from 9 am – 6 pm, Friday, August 14th, 2020 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
