How you see downtown Walhalla growing and prospering

The director of Main Street Walhalla, Libby Imobdy, is hopeful that everyone with an interest in the city’s downtown will mark their calendars for a three-day period this month when the city will be paid a visit by a team from the state’s Main Street program.  The program offers technical assistance to communities as they re-vitalize their downtowns to encourage economic development and historic preservation.  The visitors will come to Walhalla Monday through Wednesday, January 25-27, and Imbody invites those interested to fill out a survey by this Friday on how they’d like to see the downtown grow.  Among stakeholders invited to share comments are business and property owners, government officials, tourists, civic and church groups, residents, and people who shop, work, eat and play in Walhalla.
