High School seniors to graduate May 29

May 29 will be a big day for the seniors of Oconee’s three high schools.  That morning, at 8:30, the graduating seniors of Seneca, Walhalla, and West-Oak receive their diplomas in  separate ceremonies to be held in the football stadiums at the three schools.  For a second year, COVID-19 precautions are involved.  Each graduate gets one ticket that allows up to eight guests.  The guests enter and sit together as a group.  Gates will open at 7:30 am.  Faculty members will escort guests to their seats.  Graduation guests may not leave the seating areas to take photos, but school photographers will take pictures throughout the ceremonies.  Those pictures will be available to graduates and families at no cost.  No bags permitted in the stadiums, nor will noise makers of any kind be allowed into the stadiums.  All handbags and backpacks should be locked in vehicles.  The rules are subject to change and specific details on social distancing and mask requirements will be announced closer to May 29.
