Health safety precuations urged by county official

Cleansing wipes are routinely offered  to supermarket shoppers, but a member of the Oconee County Council would like to see the grocery stores take it a step further to help protect shoppers from transmitting the flu or virus. Councilman McCall of the council’s Law Enforcement, Public Health, and Safety Committee would like to see the stores station a worker in front of the racks of shopping carts to wipe the carts clean before releasing them to shoppers. Health officials stress the need for everyone to be cleanliness cognizant and to frequently wash hands vigorously with soap.
