Genia Wade

 

Seneca – Genia Dawson Wade, 95, wife of the late JC Wade, passed away Sunday, December 24^th, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. 

 

Born June 17^th, 1928 in Hookerton, North Carolina, Genia was the daughter of the late Richard Abdul and Addie Langston Dawson. Genia was a lifelong resident of Kinston, North Carolina. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all. Genia formerly worked at JC Penny’s in Kinston, North Carolina and she was a farmer’s wife. She was a member of Airy Grove Christian Church where she was lovingly known as “Mama Genia” to all.

 

Genia is survived by her daughter, Teresa Todd and her husband Alec of Seneca; three grandchildren, Joshua Millsaps (Beth Ann), Jonathan Millsaps, Katherine Bougie (Andrew); and five great grandchildren, Kendell Millsaps, Cooper Millsaps, Campbell Millsaps, Calvin Bougie, and Mills Bougie.

 

In addition to her parents and her husband, Genia is preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Wade. Genia was one of nine siblings that preceded her in death.

 

A Celebration Of Life Service will be held at a later date at the Airy Grove Christian Church in Kinston, North Carolina, with burial to take place at the Pine Lawn Cemetery.
