Furman Cox

Seneca- Furman Cox Jr., 90, husband of 68 years to the late Charlcie Faye Cox, passed away on May 25^th, 2024 at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

 

Born on September 26^th, 1933, in Seneca, South Carolina, to the late Furman Monroe and Ruth Adgar Gillespie Cox. Furman was a Veteran of the United States Army. He worked at JP Stevens for 47 years and Nason for 20 years as a laborer.

 

Furman is survived by his sons, Ricky Cox (Janet Pelfrey), Hugh Cox (Sharon); daughters, Kay Addis (late Randall); granddaughter reared in the home, Stephanie Franks (William Jr.); 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchild.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, Furman is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Melissa Cox; brothers, Donnie Cox, John Cox; sister, Willie Sue Chambers; and daughter in law, Bridget Cox.

 

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 30^th, 2024 at Oconee Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.  The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 pm to

2:00 pm, prior to the service.
