FFA leader to make Apple Festival appearance

This year’s president of the South Carolina FFA, Kylie Cathcart, will be in attendance today during the Rotary Apple luncheon as Westminster and upper communities of Oconee celebrate another apple crop.  It’s Apple Festival time, and both today and tomorrow are the featured days of the annual event.  John Parris of the SC Agri-News Service says Kylie was chosen state FFA president because of her superb leadership ability and proven knowledge of the agricultural industry.  An Irmo resident, Kylie is a 2019 graduate of Spring Hill High School where she enrolled in the Agriculture and Bio-systems Pathway in the Center for Advanced Technical Studies.  She was recently named state winner in the extemporaneous public speaking competition.  The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
