EVELYN FRANKS
Walhalla– Lois Evelyn Jones Franks, 83, wife of Luther Earl Franks, passed away on Saturday, March 18th, 2023 at Pruitt Health Toccoa.
Born March 24th, 1939, in Tamassee, South Carolina, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Noah Jones and Della Latisha Nichols Jones. Evelyn worked at Roses Department Store and later retired from Powerhouse as the bookkeeper. Evelyn was known for her dedication to her daughters, her grandchildren, and her beloved husband Earl, and was of the Baptist Faith.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Luther “Earl” Franks; her daughters, Rebecca “Becky” Ivester (Chris), Constance “Connie” Bellotte (Michael Peden), and Allyson Carter; and her four grandsons, John Ivester, Jacob Ivester, TJ Bellotte (Abbey), and Adam Carter (Melissa); and two great-grandchildren, Liam Carter, and Allie Settlemyre; and loved by numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her siblings, Erby Jones, Annie Mae Jones Wilkerson, Hazel Jones Holden, JT Jones, Bruce Jones, and Florine Jones Turpin.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30, Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
