Eugenia Moore

Westminster – Joyce Eugenia Posey Moore, 94, wife of the late JC Moore, passed away on Friday, September 13th, 2024, at Lila Doyle Post-Acute.

Born November 12th, 1929, in Westminster, South Carolina, Eugenia was the daughter of the late Teddy Theodore and Myrtle Lucille Dickson Posey. Eugenia retired from Beacon after 38 years of service. “Granny” or “Ginga” was an active participant in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She often took part in activities that resulted in her chasing them. Whether for disciplinary reasons or fun, her love never wavered. Each carried unique experiences and memories that will always envelop them in love.  As “Gennie”, aunt, Eugenia blessed many nieces and nephews. Whether it was a night stay over as a child, a family vacation, or a simple visit she always treated as her own. She followed each one’s life story until her mind forbade it.

Eugenia was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church Westminster. She supported, taught, and participated in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and numerous church events. As a teenager, she sought Christ as her Savior and was instrumental in her children’s salvation. Her church family was a significant part of her life, and she valued each one.

Eugenia is survived by her son, Jack Moore (Betty) of Westminster; daughters, Joyce Parker (Jackie) of Westminster, Joan Crooks (David) of Westminster and Janice Moore of Westminster; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren.

Eugenia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Joe Posey; and a half-sister, Jerrie Zimmerman

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 18th, 2024 at Cross Roads Baptist Church #2 Westminster with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 17th, 2024, at Sandifer Funeral Home.

Her last years were blessed by many nurses and aides, first at Foothills and later at Lila Doyle, and Hospice of the Foothills. Many of these workers became like family to both her and her children. They each provided a level of care that could not be attained at home when physical abilities waned. The family wishes to thank all who touched her life and ours during these years. God bless you.

Likewise, the extended family and many friends continued to support and express love and adoration during these and earlier years. Whether this was for an individual family member or us all, we wish to thank you. Your support has made our journey easier, may you be richly
