EDWARD HUNNICUTT

Seneca – Edward Roy “Dib” Hunnicutt, 63, husband of Marlene Holbrooks Hunnicutt, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 27^th, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Born in Oconee County, South Carolina, Dib was the son of the late Roy Hunnicutt and Florence Roberts Hunnicutt.  Dib was the owner of Hunnicutt’s Recycling for 35 years and of the Church of God faith.  Dib was a former landlord, auctioneer, cattleman, farmer, and coin collector and he loved to work.

 

Dib is survived by his wife of 45 years; daughter, Jennifer Hunnicutt; brother, Lamar Hunnicutt; sister, Ann Watts; and grandchildren, Savannah “Gester” Grogan and Hunter “Buckwheat” Powers.

 

In addition to his parents, Dib was proceeded in death by his sister, Betty Jean Simmons.

 

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm, Friday, March 31, 2023, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Courteney Cemetery.   The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, prior to the service, at Sandifer Funeral Home.
