Dana Gordon Todd

Dana Gordon Todd of Salem, South Carolina died on May 13, 2021, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born March 15, 1963, in Oakland, CA to Paul and Judith Todd, now of Greenville, Indiana. He was the loving husband of Irene Ferrara, his wife of 30 years, and the proud father of Samantha Todd and Zoe Todd.  Dana was raised in State College, Pennsylvania, graduating from high school in 1981. He completed an undergraduate degree in physics at Clarkson College and spent his career working in ultrasound.  He was happiest when learning, and this led him to always look for new opportunities to grow both professionally and personally. Dana loved the work he was involved in and especially valued his relationships with the people around him. Through various workplaces, he formed many lasting friendships throughout the years.  Dana loved the outdoors and being active. He enjoyed running, road and mountain biking, swimming, hiking, and boating, and participated in local races, triathlons, and marathons. He enjoyed the physical activity, but also thrived on the communities of people he added as friends along the way.  Time with Sam and Zoe was particularly precious to Dana. Throughout the countless hours that we spent at the barn, Dana would help in any way – even running the trail in front of the horses when all of them were too afraid to lead. He never complained about being outnumbered by women, never failed to make us laugh (whether on purpose or by accident), and has thankfully left us with many cherished memories.  Each person Dana interacted with was important to him, and even if you didn’t see him for many years he still thought about you, shared stories about your adventures, and remembered the time spent with you fondly.  Dana was predeceased by his sister Andrea Joy North. He is also survived by brothers Kevin (Sharon) and Trevor (Kathryn); sisters-in-law Janeen Grasser (David) and Cynthia Kelley (John); brothers-in-law Matthew North, Stephen Ferrara (Sandy), Paul Ferrara (Kelley), William Ferrara (Karen), and Joseph Ferrara (Joni). Also surviving are many other beloved family members, neighbors, and friends.  Dana loved his family and friends with his whole heart and was loved fiercely in return.  A service of remembrance will take place at a future date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Park Foundation (nationalparks.org).  Online condolences can be offered at www.keoweefuneralservices.com.
