Dabo foundation benefits Oconee families

Faculty and staff in the College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences at Clemson University used funds from Dabo’s All In Team Foundation this summer to deliver food security programs in Oconee County.  The program recruited 45 participants who received free boxes of fresh, primarily local produce with accompanying recipes two times a month.  Participants also attended sessions with a Clemson Extension agent and a registered dietitian.  The programs were delivered at the Blue Ridge Community Center in Seneca.  Helen Rosemond-Saunders, a board member of the community center, says the educational pieces of the food security program will be the most valuable.  Participants ranged in age from their early 50s to people as old as 93.
