Crunch time for Chace v. city of Seneca?

Seneca’s elected leaders are to be briefed tomorrow night by the city attorney on the case of Chace versus the city of Seneca. It’s a matter set for closed-door discussion, following the finish of the regular October city council meeting. This appears to be crunch time for a lawsuit that, for the last year, has been removed from the active case roster of the Common Pleas court. Chace v. Seneca is a 2017 appeal by an Atlanta couple—Leonard and Julie Chace—of a city regulatory board decision that found the couple in violation of the city’s rules on short-term house rentals. That appeal was later withdrawn to allow for negotiation settlements while the city went to work on a new short-term rental ordinance. That work culminated last month when the city council approved a new law.
