COVID-19 spread remains rampant

Over a 5-day period, new confirmed Oconee County COVID-19 cases topped 1,100.  The period covered was Saturday last weekend through Tuesday this week.  Those numbers are accompanied by an explanation from the state health agency that its data processing issue that caused a delay of reports has “largely been resolved”.  Still, DHEC says, it cannot yet report percent positivity numbers because still negative results are being imported into its system.  Said DHEC:  “We expect to begin reporting these numbers in the coming days.”  As for Oconee’s aggregate number 1,132 cases Saturday-Tuesday, the 24-hour count reflecting Monday was 72, on the lowside; but the count for Sunday was 425, an apparent one-day high for Oconee infections.
