Comprehensive plan meetings this week

The process to help form the next Oconee comprehensive plan will arrive this week in two areas of the county heretofore not consulted directly.  That changes tonight in Mountain Rest and in Salem on Thursday night.  Adam Chapman, county planner, promises to confine his remarks to a brief explanation of what a comprehensive plan is, and why it’s important for the public to offer feedback.  Tonight’s meeting will be 6 o’clock at the Mountain Rest Community Club on Verner Mill Road.  A similar meeting takes place 6 o’clock Thursday night at the Salem Community Center/Town Hall.  While these meetings are set especially for those who live in the two areas, all Oconee residents have an invitation, also.
