Closing the deal today

Not even such a disease as the spreading virus can deter Oconee public schools from completing a deal to buy property for their top building priority—a replacement middle school in Seneca. Today is closing day for the transaction which, at last report, involves 43.82 Wells Highway acres owned by four individuals. At their March 9 meeting, the county trustees committed to spending $1.7 million, which is believed to be a record high amount ever spent to buy property for an Oconee school.
