Clemson vs ACC

Clemson University is seeking damages from the Atlantic Coast Conference. In a newly unsealed court filing, the university alleged that the league has negatively impacted the school through “misstatements” and “slander.”  The filing was done in Pickens County Court, all in part of an effort to avoid penalties for leaving the ACC. The suit called it “unconscionable.”  Additionally, the university wants the court to declare the grant of sports broadcasting rights would not apply if the school were to leave the conference.  The ACC has responded to the suit by countersuing in Charlotte.
