Publix supermarket has gone into business in Seneca, with its doors opened to the public at 7 this morning.  We’re told that the parking lot filled quickly with shoppers, so many that the police have stationed an officer there for the day.  Publix took over space formerly used by the Bi-Lo chain, demolished the former Bi-Lo, and built anew.

New South Carolina cases of the virus:  456.  Fourteen were in Oconee. Statewide, 11 people added to the death count, included in a middle-aged Pickens County resident. Of 16,471 test results, the new South Carolina positivity:  3.8%. The numbers reflect the 24-count, effective 11:59 pm Friday.

Coming out of a special meeting today, the Oconee superintendent of education predicts, the county school board likely will have approved the choice of a new wrestling coach at West-Oak High School.

Police cars rushed to and thru Seneca today, and the city police chief says the incident produced an arrest.  Chief Bowling says the police arrested one person at Sosebee Road and B-Minor Street.  No other additional details were made available to 101.7/WGOG NEWS.
