The outdoor warning sirens around Oconee Nuclear Station will be tested between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13. Rolling out the vaccine at Oconee Memorial

They are starting to administer a COVID-19 vaccine to front-line workers at the Oconee Memorial Hospital.  According to Prisma Health, the rollout started Wednesday of last week.  First to receive it was a nurse in the hospital intensive care unit.  The vaccine is scheduled to be made available to the general public in the next few months.

Precipitation-filled weekend

Who says it never snows in these parts on Christmas?  Though it didn’t last long, weather watcher Barbara Wilson in Walhalla notes a dusting of snow on Christmas Day morning.  Most of the precipitation measured.  Between Wednesday and Thursday, December 23 and 24, she measured “right at 2″ of melted precipitation” (rain).
