Omicron the dominant variant

CDC now estimates the highly transmissible Omicron variant is the dominant variant in the U-S representing 73% of cases.  In some parts of the country representing over 90% of cases.  A shudder went through the Clemson University community when it when the university announced 10 confirmed cases of the new variant.

Shopping center sold near Seneca

A corner shopping center near Seneca changes hands.  Records filed last week in the office of Oconee Register of Deeds shows Magnolia Plaza at 123 and Sheep Farm Road, containing Schlotzky’s restaurant, went from one limited liability company to another.  The transaction fetched a price of $3.4 million.

Sanitation operations adjust their schedules

Weekend drug arrest in Westminster

A 42-year old Oconee County man has been charged by the Westminster police with methamphetamine and other drug offenses, including illegal possession of the opioid hydrocodone.  Law enforcement reports show Matthew Flint Patterson of the Earles Grove Road was arrested after a policeman approached a car at a N. Bibb Street car wash.
