The S-C Education Lottery reports a Piedmont man won $200 thousand playing the lottery the day after New Year’s Day. The winner bought a $10 Red Hot Cash ticket, outside of the VGO Mart on River Road in his home town. For selling the claimed ticket, the store gets a commission of $2 thousand.

State troopers report three people hurt in yesterday afternoon’s accident on S.C. 59 in the Earles Grove Community. Trooper Billy Elder said the accident occurred when a mail carrier’s truck slowed down and was struck from the rear by a Volkswagen Jetta. Elder said the mail carrier, Tiffany L.
