Mountain Rest home fire

Fire fighters battled fire today in a large Mountain Rest home. Charlie King, Oconee Fire Chief, said the location is near S-C 28 on Gnat’s Hollow Road, north of the 107 split. No injuries reported, but substantial damage reported to the two-story house. An investigation has been ordered to determine the cause of the fire.
