Three bear cubs found abandoned in Oconee County shortly after birth are receiving medical help elsewhere. The cubs, found inside a box left last week at the Long Creek Volunteer Fire Station, appear to be no more than four weeks old, according to a South Carolina wildlife biologist. You can expect a smoke in the sky above Long Creek. At 2:30 this afternoon, the U-S Forest Service plans a 15-acre prescribed burn. Though it’s a small burn, it likely will be enough to cause a smoky sky, according to a spokesman for the prescribed burn.
