Judges have sent defendants to prison for multiple-year terms in both Pickens and Anderson counties. The office of 13th Circuit Solicitor, Walter Wilkins, announced a 23-year prison term was handed down to 25-year old Ricky Lee Smith of Norris for first degree burglary at seven Pickens County homes. Initial tests to check the quality of West Union’s water turned up no problems, according to the mayor. But Linda Oliver says an independent company will conduct a second sampling.
