A hiker who apparently fell in the vicinity of the Keowee-Toxaway State Park in Pickens County received assistance during a search late yesterday afternoon. According to a report received, the hiker encountered trouble when he became dizzy and fell on the Nature Bridge Trail.

Oconee Sheriff’s Office has ended its search for a Salem woman reported missing and not heard from for three and a half weeks. Chattooga fatality identified

Yesterday’s fatality in the Chattooga River near Sandy Ford has been identified this afternoon as Ralph Neal Head. The 64-year old Head lived in Madison, Georgia. Coroner Karl Addis ruled Head’s death an accidental freshwater drowning. His is the second drowning in the river in two months and the third since July of last year.
