Wreck in front of business

Two cars collided during the noon hour today on Seneca’s W. N. 1st Street, and one of the drivers was sent to the hospital for treatment. The police say the accident, in front of the Seneca Pawn Shop, forced them to shut down one lane of the street headed in the direction of the downtown.

Arrest made in fiber optics theft

Oconee Sheriff’s Office reports an arrest in a case of stolen fiber optics equipment. More arrests are anticipated. A 44-year old Seneca man, James Gus Orr Jr., was arrested Friday by sheriff’s officers and charged with receiving stolen goods. The volunteers who man the Corinth-Shiloh Fire Department found themselves as busy as it gets when it comes to emergencies. There were no fires, but the rainy morning made for a variety of calls.
