Road work to close part of Seneca street

A contractor has announced that part of Seneca’s N. Townville Street will be closed starting Monday for road construction. According to Earth Materials Grading of Belton, N. Townville Street—from E. N. 2nd to Hopkins Road—will remain closed until mid December. Affected traffic should follow a detour route onto N. Depot by E. N. 2nd and Hopkins.

Charges pile up against burglary suspect

Stolen guns and jewelry have been recovered by sheriff’s officers in their investigation of burglaries this summer in three rural Oconee County communities. And a 31-year old man has been sent to jail. The Oconee Sheriff’s Office has announced 14 charges against Jonathan Allen Finney of Maple Circle, Tamassee. Finney was arrested August 28.
