For this part of September a low of 46 degrees is not a Walhalla record low.  But 46 degrees overnight likely had people reaching for a blanket and, perhaps, the switch from AC to heat.  Barbara Wilson, weather observer, reported 75 for Sunday’s high, 46 for the low, and no precipitation.

At the regular September meeting, Westminster Council will take up an ordinance to place a one-year moratorium on the collection of fees for temporary and event sign permits.  The moratorium, to be considered during tomorrow night’s meeting, would suspend the fees for one year or until the city adopts a new zoning code.

A section of a street in Clemson has been closed.  The city on Friday announced the shut down of a part of Brook Street where it connects with Ripple View Drive.  According to Clemson, there are safety concerns for a failing stormwater pipe under Brook Street.
