Oconee School District has been reunited with one of its activity buses stolen during the weekend in Walhalla.  The police say the bus was taken from the parking lot of Walhalla Middle School.  Chief Ronald Wilbanks says county officers found the bus apparently abandoned in a driveway outside the city.   An investigation is underway to determine who stole the bus […]

Walhalla home fire

Damage is described as serious as the result of a home fire late last night in Walhalla.  Oconee Fire Dispatch reported three people inside the home at 702 W-S Broad Street were able to get out of the home without injury.  Multiple fire units responded.  The first call came shortly after 9:30.

Stolen school bus found

A report this afternoon indicates that a stolen Oconee school activity bus has been found.  The bus was stolen from the parking lot of Walhalla Middle School during the weekend, and Police Chief Ronald Wilbanks believes county officers may have located the bus this afternoon in an area near Bear Swamp Road.  No arrests yet.
