Crews from the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) have responded to more than 650 reports of fallen trees and tree limbs since Wednesday afternoon statewide due to high winds. A restaurant burglary near Seneca netted the thief or thieves $200 dollars cash.  The intruders during the night at the Plentiful Platter on the Friendship Road apparently weren’t hungry.  They left the food alone.  Oconee sheriff’s officers are investigating.

Of candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, Oconee’s Democratic Party leader says there is excitement about both of them.  But Paulette Keffas Chassin, the interim party chairwoman, said she’s sensing there may be more of a preference for Clinton.  Saturday’s vote across Oconee will determine if her hunch proves correct.

For those who will fill out a Democratic ballot Saturday, there are four choices:  Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley, Bernie Sanders, and Willie Wilson.  The office of Oconee Elections and Registration reminds voters that you can vote Saturday if you are a registered voter so long as you did not vote in last Saturday’s Republican primary.

After a day of high wind gusts, tornado warnings and periodic heavy rain, the Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative reports crews have restored power to all customers.
