An economic development meeting takes places at 6:30 tomorrow night at the Westminster Fire Department.  Everyone interested in seeing a better Westminster is invited.  City Councilwoman Susan Ramey says Mayor Brian Ramey needs help with a project that he is working on.  Another topic for tomorrow night’s meeting is the Freedom of Information Act.

Fire during the midnight hour south of Seneca destroyed a poultry house.  There was no immediate word this morning whether there were any chickens inside the building.  The fire occurred on SC 24 near 59, inside the fire protection district of the Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department.

Seneca has achieved an improved rating for its fire protection district.  At City Hall last night, city administrator Greg Dietterick announced that after an evaluation the I-S-O—the Insurance Services Office—had dropped the city’s rating from a 3 to 2.  The lower the rating the greater the potential for insurance companies to lower the premiums of their policyholders.  At the meeting, […]
