Parking lots of Seneca motels appear full this morning, as word spreads that evacuees from the low state and midlands have booked practically all available rooms across the state.  In advance of Hurricane Matthew, Governor Haley yesterday ordered an evacuation of the coastal areas.

Hit-run accident at Miracle Circle

The police are classifying a late morning crash at Seneca’s Miracle Circle as a hit-run accident.  The police are looking for a gold, 4-door SUV and its driver who they say sidewiped a Chrysler.  No one was hurt.  Capt. Robert Tribble says it’s believed the SUV headed on 123 in the direction of Westminster.

For a DHEC worker in Columbia, travel has been cancelled.  Tomorrow night’s forum at the Duke’s Oconee World of Energy, sponsored by “FOLKS”–the Friends of Lake Keowee, has been called off.  Ben Turetsky says the event will be re-scheduled.   DHEC’s James Glover was to have been the main speaker.
