Twenty members of the Seneca High School chorus have been named to the South Carolina All-State Chorus.  Of 80 schools across the state, Seneca’s All-State members are the fourth highest.  Eleven Seneca students performed with perfection on the sight singing portion of their audition. The All-State Chorus will sing in March at Winthrop University with world-renowned conductors.  

The recycling centers and landfill operated by Oconee County will do business tomorrow during the Veterans Day holiday.  The day will be a holiday for regular county government workers, although the board of Oconee election commissioners will gather at 9 o’clock to certify the results of the General Election voting Tuesday.

Because of the extreme dry conditions, the S.C. Department of Natural Resources has issued a burning ban on the 33,000-acre Jocassee Gorges area in northern Oconee and Pickens counties.  Firefighters from the S.C.
