Monday afternoon wrecks

Three mid-afternoon car wrecks happened in Seneca on Monday. The worst wreck involved three cars on Highway 123 in front of Harbor Freight. Captain B.J. Investor to Acquire Covidien

Soon the “Available” sign will disappear from in front of the former Covidien Plant. Richard Blackwell with Oconee Economic Alliance says an investor is to acquire the building, along with additional property around the plant, effective April 10. Plans are to find a tenant, or failing that, tear down the building.

Westminster man dies in Sunday evening wreck

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis says a 72-year-old man died Sunday from injuries sustained during a traffic collision. The wreck happened near 195 Snow Creek Road in Seneca at about 6 PM Sunday. Addis says James Walter Olbon of Oakway Road, Westminster, died from multiple blunt force injuries. The coroner says there will be no autopsy.
