Public safety responders were busy durng the night in Westminster.  A barn/storage structure caught fire on Long Drive near Hobson Street.  A power line and trees fell on Johnson Street.  In Walhalla, a power line and tree fell on Holloway Street.

Blue Ridge holds 77th annual members meeting

Deal in the works–large building downtown Walhalla

Well-placed sources say a deal is in the works for the Littletons to sell their large downtown building.  Two prospective buyers have been identified to 101.7/WGOG NEWS.  The Main Street building occupies about one-half of the block between S. College and Tugaloo streets and includes Martha’s Marketplace Café and the Flag and Confederate memorabilia store.

Annual Blue Ridge meeting tonight!

The annual consumers’ meeting of the Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative takes place at the Pickens office this evening, with entertainment by the Primitive Quartet starting at 4:30 and the business meeting at 7.
