Pickens County Recreation Advisory Board created

Pickens County Council created a recreation advisory board yesterday by adopting an ordinance that calls for a formal application and review process to distribute funds.  In the past, Pickens County recreation funds have gone to projects such as City of Clemson Softball Field Lighting, Old Stone Church Baseball Field, and Nettles Park Baseball Fields.

A Berkeley County man has been arrested in Oconee, charged with possession of a stolen motorcycle. Full-depth patching ahead for part of 123

That recent highway project that created a short detour for traffic on U-S 123 in Oconee County near the Georgia line will lead to “full-depth patching” and re-surfacing work on the two-lane highway.  Josh Makison, the Oconee construction engineer for the DOT, says the work will take place in the vicinity of Pickens Road.  The work will cover 1.93 miles.  […]

Officer-involved shooting in Georgia

The FBI has confirmed that a shooting involving the FBI in Atlanta was related to warrants for a suspect who last Wednesday allegedly shot a Banks County, Georgia deputy. The suspect, 32-year-old Avery Richard, was killed in the incident, while an FBI agent and a woman were injured. The Banks County Sheriff’s Office plans a statement  today.
