Car fire near Walhalla

Fire late last night ravaged a Jeep Cherokee which pulled to the side of a rural road near Walhalla. The driver, noticing something wrong, stopped his car on the Old Georgia Road near SC 183/the Westminster Highway. Walhalla Fire Department responded but could not save the car from total destruction. No one was hurt.

Walhalla adjusts trash pickup schedule

To accommodate Veterans’ Day on Monday, Walhalla has changed its trash pickup schedule. Those who normally see their trash collected on Monday are requested instead to have their roll carts out by 7 o’clock Tuesday morning for pickup either Tuesday or Wednesday. Russ Price, public works director, says all other routes will remain on regular schedule.
