Car carrying fuel containers burst into flames

Near Pickens yesterday, a car left Wolf Creek Road, overturned and burst into flames and there were multiple explosions.  The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office quotes Jessica Dale Patterson, the driver, as saying her Pontiac G6 transported containers of fuel that she hoarded in the car trunk.  And these several containers of fuel, says the sheriff’s office, were the catalyst for the explosion.  A deputy pushed 28-year old Patterson to the ground in order to put out the flames.  EMS transported Patterson to the hospital.  At the time of the car overturned, a deputy activated his siren, after learning that the license plate of the 2007 Pontiac had been reported stolen.
