Brock and Hubbard to talk Oconee taxes

A meeting this afternoon between the Oconee County administrator and the county auditor will focus on the property tax picture for 2019. Auditor Christy Hubbard’s plan is to make her annual visit to the County Council September 17 to recommend a millage on which to calculate the tax bills that’ll go out this fall to property taxpayers. Much of the anticipated county tax revenue will derive from number one taxpayer, Duke Energy. Hubbard has the assessment figures from the state Department of Revenue, but she first wants to apprise County Administrator Amanda Brock of those figures before she talks about them publicly.
