Breakthrough for patients in rural, remote areas

When Clemson University deploys its modern health clinic van to parts of Oconee and Pickens and to other South Carolina counties, the capability to send health records isn’t always the best. That’s going to change with a three-year commitment for about $5.25 million dollars. Paula Watt, director of Clemson’s Sullivan Center, says the funds will provide wireless broadband technology to both stationary and mobile clinics to assure easy, secure and reliable access to electronic health records and tele-medicine for patients in rural, remote areas. To secure the money, the Sullivan Center partnered with Mobile Connectivity Solutions (MCS), a team of mobile health care, marketing and tele-communication pros.
