Bobby Joe Owens
Westminster – Bobby Joe Owens, 73, husband of Audrey Blackmon Owens, of 417 Sam Moore Road, passed away Sunday, March 7th, 2021 at his residence.
A native of Oconee County, he was the son of the late John and Dessie Hughes Owens. Bobby retired after 26 years from Bonitz Construction where he worked as a Foreman. He was an avid outdoorsman and beekeeper and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Audrey Blackmon Owens of 31 years, include sons, Scott Owens of Westminster, Steve Marcus, and Ben Owens both of the residence; daughters, Cindy Blackwell of Oakway, Tonya Walters (PeeWee) of Westminster; brothers, Junior Owens (Shirley) of Westminster, Terry Owens (Carolyn) of Westminster; sisters, Linda Ballenger (Fred); six grandchildren, Victor and Nicolas Stargel, Ron and Don Blackwell, Steven and Blake Marcus; five great-grandchildren, Wesley Stargel, Levi Blackwell, Shadow Stargel, Marley Stargel, and Caroline Stargel.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 10th, 2021 from the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Old Hepsibah Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:30 – 1:30 pm, prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.
