The Colorado Avalanche hung on to defeat the Edmonton Oilers 8-6 in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals Tuesday night, but the home team lost starting goaltender Darcy Kuemper to an upper-body injury in the process.  Tonight it’s game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals with Tampa Bay at New York Rangers at 8pm.
