Easy Company member dies at 96

As Toccoa, Georgia prepares for another Currahee Military Weekend, word arrives that another member of Easy Company has departed.  Donald Malarkey was 96 years old.  He parachuted into Normandy on D-Day and fought with Easy Company across Europe.  Malarkey died last weekend in Salem, Oregon.  News outlets quote Malarkey’s son-in-law, John Hill, as saying the HBO miniseries was cathartic for his father-in-law and helped him come to […]

Homecoming activities this weekend at both Walhalla and Clemson.  The Walhalla Homecoming Parade will make its way downtown starting at 6 tonight.  The annual Tigerama pep rally tomorrow will jump-start homecoming weekend at Clemson.  The event, produced entirely by students, takes place at Death Valley.  The theme is “Orange Crush.”
