Around 9 o’clock last night near Walhalla, a moped struck a dog on the Rock Crusher Road.  The injuries to the adult male moped operator required a medical helicopter transport.  No immediate word this morning on the man’s condition.  Public safety responders were unable to locate the dog.

In today’s DHEC report, the health agency lists 647 new cases and 16 deaths in South Carolina from COVID-19.  Ten of those new cases are Oconee County residents.  Yesterday DHEC received results of 4,459 tests done statewide, with a positivity of 14.5%.
