South Carolina DHEC reported an additional 1,428 confirmed COVID cases, including 35 from Oconee County.  There were no new Oconee County cases listed on today’s report.  Statewide, there were 84 new deaths.  Of 20,613 test results received the positivity was 10.3%.

The Pickens County coroner has identified the man who died today in a police-involved shooting in Clemson.  He’s 25-year old Greenville resident Gregory Chandler Metz.  Coroner Kelley says Metz was shot just before 1:30 am at the Circle K.
