New slate of officers in place

An Anderson restaurateur, Hamid Mohsseni, heads up the advisory board for Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton.  The new commission chairman, Mohssenni, is the president/CEO of the Anderson Restaurant Group and a former chairman of the Anderson Economic Development Board.  He is joined by Jim Wanner of Salem as vice chair and Jim Kaplan of Pickens as secretary.

Pickens County drowning

The death of a 34-year old Marietta, South Carolina woman is under investigation as a drowning in upper Pickens County.  According to the coroner’s office, the death of Lisa Marie Ballew occurred early last night at her home on Armstrong Drive, Marietta.  Her death is being investigated by the coroner’s office and the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.
