Tobacco/vape talk planned in Seneca

On Tuesday night primary election votes will be tabulated in Walhalla.  In Seneca, the city government will pick up discussions on whether tobacco use and vaping shall be forbidden at city-sponsored events, such as Jazz on the Alley.  Seneca City Council meets for its regular June meeting at 6 Tuesday night at city hall.

I-85 car wreck in Oconee County

Two cars southbound on I-85 collided at Fair Play this morning, and two people were sent to the Anderson hospital with what are considered minor injuries.  Chief Wilkerson of the fire department says the wreck occurred before exit 1 and one of the cars wound up wedged in the median cables.  All I-85 lanes have been cleared.

Scott pushes financial literacy

The top Republican on the Senate Banking Committee, South Carolina’s Tim Scott, highlighted the importance of financial education during Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill.  “In South Carolina, it’s now a pre-requisite that to graduate from high school, you have to have a financial literacy class.”
