The investigation of a domestic violence incident last weekend in Westminster led the city police to charge a Sunshine Circle resident with domestic violence first degree and malicious injury to personal property.  The domestic violence warrant alleges Bobby Justin Peay, 28, kicked and punched the victim, with a minor child present.

Oconee nears 250 COVID-related deaths

The COVID-19 death confirmed Sunday by the state health agency brings Oconee’s running death toll from the virus to 247 residents.  ABC NEWS reports that 1,100 Americans are now dying every day.  Worsening the situation is the new variant Omicron, now confirmed in 21 states, Florida and Illinois among the latest.
